Explore creativity, expression, and movement through our Contemporary and Modern Dance classes at Atlantika Dance. Contemporary dance is a versatile and expressive style that combines influences from classical ballet, modern dance, and other movement techniques.

It encourages dancers to explore the connection between music, emotion, and movement while developing strong technical foundations.
Contemporary classes incorporate elements of classical dance technique, including alignment, balance, control, strength, and flexibility, while introducing dancers to more fluid and expressive movement. Students work on travelling combinations, floor work, improvisation, and choreography set to a variety of musical genres. This allows dancers to develop their individuality, musicality, and confidence as performers.
Contemporary dance challenges students to move beyond traditional technique by exploring dynamics, creativity, and personal expression. Dancers learn how to use space, energy, and emotion to communicate through movement while continuing to build strength, coordination, and body awareness. The skills developed in contemporary training complement many other dance styles, making it a valuable addition to a dancer’s overall education.
Our Contemporary program provides a supportive environment where dancers can take risks, discover their own movement style, and grow both technically and artistically. Whether students are looking to expand their dance experience, improve performance skills, or explore a more expressive form of movement, Contemporary Dance offers an exciting and rewarding experience.
